Ella was never married. She served as a nurse in Oshkosh and then in Milwaukee for 36 years before moving back to the area. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. She was survived by a sister, Mrs. Hanna Kittleson, Iola, two nieces and a nephew.
